What Are You Currently Sleeping On?
- Suppose you’re coming from memory foam and enjoy the pressure relief it provides. In that case, our Beyond Latex foam formulation provides all the characteristics of memory foam without the chemicals, toxins, and off-gassing. The majority of mattresses today are cheap memory foam that has a short lifespan. You'll experience our patented Beyond Latex organic foam on the Tatami, Classic REM5, and Dormeuse REM9.
- If you’re coming from a traditional mattress with springs/coils or wool/cotton batting, Essentia’s GOLS/GOTS certification ensures a healthy and toxin-free sleep environment. Traditional mattresses with fabric batting are a breeding ground for dust mites and bed bugs. If this is your first time on a latex bed, you'll love the feel of our Grateful Eight or the top rated Stratami mattress.
- If transitioning from a latex mattress, Essentia’s latex process offers durability and customization for specific needs. Essentia is unique, as we manufacture our organic latex foams in our GOLS and GOTS certified organic factory, so we control the quality from start to finish. Not all latex is created equal, ask where the latex is made and how it is sourced. And most importantly, is it synthetic or organic?
How long have you had your mattress?
- Essentia mattresses have a 20-year warranty, we use 3x the amount of raw ingredients to make the same mattress and our mattresses weigh 2x that of traditional foam mattresses.
- Most traditional and memory foam mattresses have a 5-7 year lifespan using harsh chemicals and cheap flame retardant materials. Our mattress uses a Kevlar sock for fire protection - No fiberglass, no chemicals.
Do you experience sleep disruptions?
- Back pain issues could be caused by poor support. Springs and coils wear out over time which results in a lack of support in the areas most affected. Essentia uses a high-density, certified organic latex core that is supportive and durable.
- Numbness and soreness are caused by poor circulation and uneven weight distribution. Essentia’s patented Beyond Latex formulation distributes your weight evenly over the entire surface of the mattress and provides pressure relief for shoulders and hips if you are a side sleeper. This latex foam adapts to your movements while cradling your body.
- Sleeping hot can vary from person to person. It’s not about turning the room temperature down to 65 degrees and let’s go to sleep. Essentia’s cooling technology is about slowly reducing the body’s core temperature to get you into DEEP and REM sleep. Our patented design and use of active quartz allow up to 9 degrees of cooling over an eight-hour night's sleep.
Are you a back or side sleeper?
- Side sleepers want more pressure relief on their shoulders and hips. They tend to switch back and forth throughout the night which means they need a foam that reacts to their movements but is supportive to conform the body without too much resistance from the foam.
- Back sleepers need proper support to align the spine. Too much of a lower spine curvature requires more pressure relief. The majority of back sleepers prefer a mid-contour or elevated support mattress. The notion that you need a “firm/hard” mattress does not apply to organic latex mattresses. Think “support” and “contour”.
What type of foundation do you have?
- The type of foundation is paramount to getting the most benefits from your mattress, especially an organic latex mattress. Essentia mattresses are best suited to be used on our Vertebase 2.0 which replaces a boxspring, our Rize Adjustable, or can be used on platform or slatted bed frame. However, if you are to use a slatted bed frame, ensure the slats are thick enough to support the weight and are not bowed. Also, slats must be no more than 3 inches apart. Our mattresses weigh on average over 100 lbs.
